We were delighted to work with P88 Pest Control, a Gloucester-based provider of professional residential and commercial pest control services, to design and develop a brand-new website that reflects the quality and professionalism of their business.
Built on the latest major release of WordPress 7, the new website has been carefully designed to provide visitors with a seamless user experience while making it easy for potential customers to get in touch and request assistance.
Designed to Generate Enquiries
A key objective of the project was to ensure that visitors could quickly access contact information and request support when needed. To achieve this, the website features a permanently visible call button pinned to the header, allowing users to contact P88 Pest Control from any page with a single click.
The site also includes a comprehensive services gallery, enabling visitors to explore the range of pest control solutions available for both residential and commercial clients. An intuitive FAQ accordion page provides clear answers to common questions, helping customers find information quickly without needing to make an enquiry.
To further improve customer engagement, a dedicated contact page includes an interactive live map alongside a secure contact form, making it easy for customers to locate the business and submit enquiries online.
Building Trust Through Customer Reviews
Trust is essential when choosing a pest control provider. To help showcase P88 Pest Control’s reputation, we integrated a live Google Reviews slider directly onto the homepage. The feature automatically displays genuine customer feedback complete with official Google branding and star ratings, giving prospective customers confidence in the quality of service they can expect.
Security-First Approach
In addition to creating a modern and user-friendly website, significant attention was given to security and website hardening. A range of protective measures were implemented to help safeguard the site against brute-force attacks, malware, bots and other common threats.
The security enhancements include:
- Login attempt limiting to help prevent brute-force attacks.
- A customised WordPress login URL to reduce exposure to automated attacks.
- Advanced cross-site scripting (XSS) protection.
- XML-RPC functionality disabled to reduce attack vectors.
- RSS and Atom feeds disabled where unnecessary.
- Protection and locking of sensitive system folders to prevent unauthorised script execution.
- Concealment of the WordPress version to minimise information disclosure.
- Activity logging and monitoring to identify and respond to suspicious activity.
The website’s contact forms are also protected using Cloudflare Turnstile, helping to prevent spam submissions while providing a smooth user experience without the frustrations often associated with traditional CAPTCHA systems.
