Dean Frost is a Southampton-based sailor and adventurer. He joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16 and ever since has had a passion for adventure and a love of the sea. During his time in the Navy, he trained as a marine engineering electrician and after transitioning into civilian life, used these skills to good effect, managing teams and businesses throughout his career. Now retiring from professional life, Dean follows his passion for ‘out of the ordinary adventure’ where uncertain outcomes make for great stories!

In 2021/22, he safely skippered a four-man rowing boat in the World’s Toughest Row. He has recently competed in the Fastnet race, both in the rough 2023 race and again in 2025. Dean will be sailing solo in the 2026 Globe 5.80T transatlantic race and will then race in the OGR27 on board ‘Outlaw’, a Baltic 55, sailing around the great Capes.

It is in preparation for The Globe 5.80 Transat, a solo race across the Atlantic, that Dean asked us to design him a website. He wanted a platform where his family, friends, and followers could learn more about this epic race, the boat he will be sailing, and read his logbook updates as he sails the deep ocean.

Vector Logo Design

Our logo design for “Dean Frost Sailing” strikes a confident balance between modern professionalism and dynamic maritime energy. The primary wordmark, set in a bold, clean sans-serif typeface, conveys strength and reliability, with its solid letterforms and generous spacing enhancing legibility and presence. This is contrasted effectively by the handwritten-style “Sailing” beneath, whose loose, brush-like strokes introduce a sense of movement and spontaneity—evoking the fluid, wind-driven nature of the sport.

To the right, a minimalist sailboat graphic is rendered in a sharp, geometric style, with a cool blue gradient that subtly suggests depth, motion, and open water. The elongated horizontal line beneath the text anchors the composition, reinforcing a sense of speed and direction, almost like a horizon or wake line. Altogether, the design communicates a brand that is both dependable and performance-driven, with a clear nod to the elegance and exhilaration of sailing.

Website looks fantastic! Thank you so much for all your hard work.
